Dehumidifiers & Heat Pumps

The Aridaire Range of dehumidifiers and heat pumps from Cooling and Heating Solutions

A small domestic Dehumidifier is one of the best, yet unsung, domestic appliances available.

  • A small footprint and lightweight.
  • Very quiet in operation.
  • Little more electrical consumption than a light bulb, and 3 to 5 times the electrical consumption emerges as heat.
  • Condensation and damp greatly reduced in the house with associated reduction in mould and bed, carpet and furniture bugs.
  • Significant improvements in the health of the environment and associated allergy reduction.

  • Cooling and Heating Solutions have a number of dehumidifier models to suit all requirements: Secco Piu, Secco Prof, PD30, PD60, PD120 and a range of Desiccant Dehumidifiers and Heat Pumps. Use the links, or scroll down for more information. Compare the specifications. Submit an enquiry about dehumidifiers to Cooling and Heating Solutions.

The Secco Piu dehumidifier from Cooling and Heating Solutions

The Cooling and Heating Solutions' domestic model dehumidifier is the Secco Piu and is manufactured in Italy with typical Italian styling. It has an LED Relative Humidity display incorporating the automatic humidistat control setting, 'reservoir full' allarm, and the fan speed setting. View specifications.

Secco Prof & PD30 The Secco Prof dehumidifier from Cooling and Heating Solutions

We have two portable models for small commercial applications. The PD30 is very robust and is predominantly used on building sites, being available for use on either a 110 volt or 230 volt supply, and having automatic defrost as standard to allow low temperature operation. The water is drained directly via a gravity hose or a container can be positioned adjacent to the unit.

The Secco Prof is a lighter build and incorporates an automatic humidistat as standard, and a water reservoir. It is predominantly used in storage applications, typically archives, plant rooms, vintage car garages, cellars and unoccupied spaces.

PD60 The Secco Prof from Cooling and Heating Solutions

This is predominantly used to dry out wet materials in new builds: plaster, floor, screed etc. It is available for use from either a 110 volt, or 230 volt supply. The water is drained directly via a gravity hose or a container can be positioned adjacent to the unit. As our picture shows, it is easily moved around and the tyres are 'non mark'. Automatic defrost allows efficient operation at low air temperatures.

PD120 The PD120 from Cooling and Heating Solutions

This is a very large capacity unit with a unique operating angle, made possible by the incorporation of a rotary refrigeration compressor. The angle allows a large capacity water reservoir to stand alongside, whilst reverting to the upright mode for transport and storage, to keep footprint to a minimum. Available in 110 volt, or 230 volt format, automatic defrost for low temperature operation comes as standard.

    Also available, Desiccant Dehumidifiers

In some applications, typically pharmaceutical and 'one pass', desiccant dehumidifiers are more suitable. They are based on an hygroscopic material eg. silica gel, usually built in stainless steel, and are capable of achieving much lower relative humidities, typically 20% RH or lower. A whole variety of models are available, large and small - specific details are available upon request.

    Heat Pumps

Every appliance using a refrigeration circuit is a 'heat pump': refrigerator, deep freeze, display cabinet, cold store, dehumidifier, air conditioner; they are all heat pumps. They move heat from one place to another. A refrigerator, for instance, moves heat out of the cabinet (thus lowering the air temperature) and discharges it into the kitchen.

The expression 'heat pump' has associated itself with refrigeration circuits that are being used in applications that make use of the heat output.

They are considered 'green' and 'eco-friendly' because, for every kW of electrical input, between 1 and 4 +/- kW of heat are created. This is described as the Coefficient of Performance (COP). Electricity prices are greater than the equivalent gas, oil or coal prices, so the COP helps balance that cost difference.
