EventsThe first time Winchester Cathedral had been heated for a charity event

Event organisers demand fine wine and food for their guests and, increasingly today, a perfectly designed and controlled internal environment. Cooling and Heating Solutions specialise in the control of temperature, 'Creating the Right Atmosphere'.

We know that entertaining guests, whatever the event, is a very special occasion. Everything has to be exactly right if the event is to be a memorable one: the location, the furnishings, the sound, the lighting, the food and drink and the entertainers themselves.

But what about the ambient conditions? To hot, too cold, too sweaty, too draughty and guests soon start to forget their lavish surroundings, they become distracted, they become uncomfortable.

Across the British Isles and Europe, we provide site survey, design and quotation all free of any charges. On receipt of orders, we deliver, install and commission our systems, at all times liaising with other service providers to ensure a smooth transition from 'green field' to finished product - on time and on budget. Where requested we attend the function to find tune the systems as appropriate. We operate in both marquees and existing buildings such as hotels, banqueting halls and exhibition stands.

Fan Coil and Chiller Systems

This is the most sophisticated form of air conditioning that is available today. The internal Fan Coils are elegant and very quiet with full fan speed control and automatic temperature control. The external Chillers are refrigeration based units that make use of the most up to date Heat Pump technology. At the press of a button they either produce chilled or hot water. At major golf events for instance, heating is often required early in the morning, followed by cooling at lunchtime and heating again at the end of the day. Flexible water hoses transfer the energy from outside to in, requiring only limited access through the sides of the structure. System capacities vary from 10kW/hr up to 500kW/hr.

Fan Coil and Boiler Systems

These systems make use of the same internal Fan Coils as above, but in conjunction with sophisticated central heating boilers outside. These systems are mainly used in mid-winter when maximum heating capacity is needed. System capacities vary from 100kW/hr upwards.

Portable Warm Air Heaters

These are the 'torpedoes' that are traditionally associated with heating tents. They have come a long way since they looked (and behaved?!) like torpedoes and today are highly efficient and quiet sources of heat. Operating at over 90% combustion effiiency on red diesal, they include quiet, yet powerful fans that provide draft free hot air distribution well above head height. System capacities vary from between 25kW/hr and 200kW/hr.

All Electric Blower Heaters are available in capacities from 3kW/hr to 18kW/hr in a single unit, with ceramic and quartz heaters increasingly used as door curtains and spot heaters.

Portable Air Conditioners & Spot Coolers

These are wheel in and plug in types of castored units, mainly operating in conjunction with a tumble dryer hose. They are particularly popular within the exhibition industry, with meeting rooms being a major application. They are also widely used in event management site offices, mess rooms etc. Individual unit capacities vary from 2kW/hr up to 7kW/hr.

Ventilation, Kitchen Extract & Fume Extraction

In spring and autumn some cooling effect can be achieved using fresh air to blow inside structures. The major beneficial effect is more associated with moving high humidities, created by people, out of the structure, than it is in reducing temperatures. The days of having to clear away tobacco smoke are rapidly coming to an end, but ever increasing on-site catering facilities mean extra demand for kitchen extract fans.
