Outrage Events LogoCooling and Heating Solutions Ltd (CHS) exhibited at the Executive Hire Show which was held at the RICOH arena, Coventry on 7th – 8th Feb 2018. It was our first time at the show and it was great to speak to some existing clients as well as some new faces.

Flying HireFlying Hire Events contacted us to help them with heating a marquee for a prestigious lunch event on 7th February 2018 at Highbury Substation. We supplied them with EMT.15 electric heaters for the event. It was the first time we had worked with Flying Hire Events and we were given instructions that these units had to look immaculate due to the importance of the event. Luckily our hire equipment always arrives on site looking pristine, so this was no problem to us at all! It was a pleasure to work with Flying Hire Events and we hope we will work with them in the future.

SeastartSea Start contacted us as they needed help to provide a warm environment to carry out temperature sensitive paint work on one of the coldest weeks of the year! We provided them with an indirect heater to help keep their workshop at a constant temperature whilst they carried out the paint job. They have since hired again from us. It’s great when customers come back time and time again!

Cheltenham / Arena groupCHS worked with Arena for the Cheltenham Festival Meeting which was held between 13th – 16th March 2018. We supplied the temporary heating system to the huge triple deck temporary structure which Arena erected for the event. The structure was home to multiple hospitality restaurants and private boxes. it was a week of fantastic horse racing as always with Native River winning the coveted Gold Cup, ridden by Richard Johnson and trained by Colin Tizzard. It was a pleasure, as always to work with Arena and we are looking forward to the next project which will be the Grand National Meeting at Aintree.

Piece of Cake Marquees

Piece of Cake Marquees required a heater for a wedding which was being held locally to us on 16th March 2018. We provided them with an Indirect Oil Fired Heater which they used to heat their marquee. It was the first time we had worked with them and they were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish!

Goodwood Meeting
CHS supplied heating to the Goodwood Members Meeting held on 17th – 18th March 2018. We supplied heating systems to the Daffodil tent, the Great Hall, Billy Wisdom Restaurant and many others. It was an exceptionally cold weekend with snow falling and a bitterly cold wind on both days of the meeting. Our heating certainly made the weather a little more bearable for the hardy visitors who attended the event! It was a pleasure as always to work with Goodwood and we are looking forward to The Festival of Speed in July, where hopefully the weather will have improved slightly!

Churchill LivingChurchill Retirement have some of our Indirect Heaters and Fans on a long term hire for their construction sites over the winter period. The heaters help to dry out the brickwork and plaster so build can progress more quickly. Our heaters, fans and dehumidifiers are perfect for this task, so please get in touch if you need some help or advice.

Service and RepairAlong with hiring our equipment, we have also been kept busy with servicing clients heaters. We can Service and repair your own equipment when required, so please get in touch if your heaters are looking like they could do with some TLC!

Happy New Year!!! We hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and are ready for the year ahead! Cooling and Heating Solutions Ltd (CHS) had a busy few months in the lead up to Christmas… Here is some of what we were getting up to!

Outrage Events LogoOutrage Events designed an incredible set inside a tent structure that replicated the interior of an American Airliner for their clients 40th Birthday Party on 16th September 2017. CHS installed air conditioning that was “hidden” as best as possible with pipework running back down the side of the house to the chillers in the front drive. It was great to work with Outrage Events on this project, and we hope to work with them again in the future.

Alfred Dunhill / IMGThe Alfred Dunhill Links Championship was held at St Andrews Golf Club in Scotland between the 5th – 8th October 2017. This Golf Championship is one of the worlds leading golf events. Both Professional Players and Amateur Guests are invited to compete in this competition. There are Trophies for best Professional and Amateur as well as the overall team winners. CHS were asked by IMG to supply the temperature control to various areas on the course, including the Dunhill 17th Pavilion, and Media Centre. This was a great event to be involved in as always, we are always grateful to work with IMG.
showman-carter-suppliesJohn M Carter and Essential Supplies asked us to provide heating for their trade stands at the Showmans Show held at Newbury Showground on 18th – 19th October 2017. Our heating units ensured that their clients were kept nice and warm whilst visiting their stands, which must have been a welcome treat as it was pretty chilly!
ATP Tennis
CHS supplied temperature control for the ATP World Tour Tennis Finals which were held at the O2 arena between 12th -19th November 2017. We supplied air conditioning to the Media Centre which was housed within the building in the back of house stores area – running all the pipework under a false floor. In addition we air conditioned the commentary boxes in the auditorium as well as the edit \ transmission cabins in the TV compound. This is a fantastic final to the series which always gets a huge crowd and really is quite a show! Well done to Grigor Dimitrov who claimed the series title!
CarterJohn M Carter supplied the marquees for the Henley Christmas Fair which was held between the 23rd – 25th November 2017, they asked CHS to supply Indirect Oil Fired Heaters for the event to take the chill off for the exhibitors and general public visiting the fair. This is the second year that we have provided the heating for this event and we hope to work with John M Carter again in the future as they are always a pleasure to work with.
Supernova / planit eventsWe were asked to supply heating to Supernova which is the tailor made event space produced by Planit Events. It is located in Victoria Embankment Gardens, London. The event space totals 2,500sqm within a solid framed temporary structure and is host to some of London’s most prestigious events, parties and award ceremonies through November and December. It was great to work with Planit again this year on this project.
Tobacco DockTobacco Dock, London continue to be great clients for us. We provide year round temperature control to the many different event spaces they have available. Tobacco Dock is a fantastic venue in Central London, which offers a totally unique event space with striped back beams and exposed brickwork. It makes a fantastic event space if you are after something a little different to normal and has a variety of spaces to suit all of your requirements.
Churchill LivingWe supplied Indirect Fired Heaters and fans to one of Churchills construction sites over the winter period to help dry out the brickwork. Our heaters, fans and dehumidifiers are perfect for this task, along with drying out buildings after flooding, so please get in touch if you need some help or advice.
Hire showWe are looking forward to exhibiting at the Executive Hire Show on the 7th and 8th February 2018 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, so please come and pay us a visit if you are heading to the show!

Cooling and Heating Solutions Ltd (CHS) have had a busy summer with our loyal annual clients as well as picking up some new clients along the way. Each job is very different to the last, and it has been great to work on some very unique projects. Here are some of the events we have been involved in…

Arena Group at WimbledonCHS worked with Arena Group at Wimbledon which was held from 3rd – 16th July 2017. We supplied temperature control to the temporary structures on site which are erected for the event.  These structures house various hospitality areas as well as areas for the officials to prepare for the matches. Wimbledon as ever, was filled with thrills and spills with the worlds best tennis players competing against each other to claim the coveted Wimbledon trophy! It was great to work with Arena again and we look forward to the next project!

The Open Golf ChampionshipsWorking with IMG Media, CHS supplied temperature control to the Media and TV cabins for The Open Golf Championships. The tournament was held at  The Royal Birkdale Golf Club between the 20th – 23rd July 2017, and saw the worlds best golfers battle it out in the oldest and most international championship in professional golf. Jordan Spieth came out on top, to become Champion Golfer of the Year!
ricohThe RICOH Womens British Open is one of the golfing highlights on the sporting calendar. The event was held at Kingsbarns Golf Club in Scotland, between 3rd – 6th August 2017.  CHS worked with IMG to supply temperature control systems to the RICOH hospitality areas, players lounge, media centre. It was a pleasure as always to work with IMG again on this event. 
New Forest Show 2017CHS supplied The New Forest Show with some very large fans which were ducted into the food tent for the show. The show was held at New Park, Brockenhurst between 25th – 27th July 2017, The fans helped to keep the temperatures at a slightly more bearable temperature for the duration of the show, by creating some air movement around the tent. This is our local County Show and it was great to be involved once again. 
Undercover Events
We worked with Undercover Events for the first time on an event held at KICC in Chatham, Kent. They were supplying the marquee for an event held between 25th – 27th August 2017 and contacted us to help with the air conditioning. We supplied them with a chiller and fan coil system which was a necessity on the hottest August Bank Holiday weekend on record! It was great to work with Undercover Events on this occasion, and we hope to help them with more projects again in the future. 
Goodwood RevivalCHS supplied temperature control to many of the hospitality areas of the Goodwood Revival meeting, as well as the Bonhams auction house. The event was held between 8th – 10th September 2017. The Revival recreates the Goodwood motor circuit back in its heyday between 1948 and 1966. The Revival is like stepping back in time, with most visitors dressing in vintage attire, the circuit is donned with vintage shops and street scenes which could easily be mistaken for the 50’s and 60’s along with the vintage cars and motorbikes, it truly is a spectacle that everyone should experience. It was great to work with Goodwood Road and Racing on this event again this year!
The Showman's ShowOur kit will be on display in The John M Carter stand (Stand No: E256) at The Showman’s Show held at Newbury Showground on the 18th and 19th October 2017. Do visit their stand to discuss all things marquee related, and see some of our equipment set up in a marquee! There will also be some goody bags available, so please help yourselves to these!

Cooling and Heating Solutions Ltd (CHS) worked with Concerto Events to provide a temperature control system to the marquee they have erected in the grounds of Syon Park, London for the whole of the summer. The marquee is hired out for weddings and parties throughout the summer season. We provided a fan coil and heat pump chiller system which provides both heating and cooling options at the flick of a switch, depending on the weather. We have worked with Concerto at this venue for a few years now, it is great when clients keep returning.

CHS were fortunate enough to work with The Jockey Club at Newmarket Racecourse for their meeting on 6th – 7th May 2017. We supplied fan coils and boilers to the temporary structure which had been erected alongside the winning post of the Rowley Mile, as a hospitality area. The heating was more of a precautionary measure due to the unpredictable weather at that time of year, but it ensured the marquee could be kept warm if required.
CHS worked with Field and Lawn Marquees at the prestigious Imperial War Museum, Duxford to provide temperature control to a marquee they have had erected to house a temporary exhibition over the summer months. We have installed a fan coil and heat pump chiller system to enable them to switch between cooling and heating whenever required. We have worked with Field and Lawn for many years, and we hope to work with them on future projects.


Royal Windsor Horse Show is one of the highlights of the equestrian calendar, held from 10th – 14th May 17 within the grounds of Windsor Castle. The event attracts all of the big names in Showing, Show jumping, Carriage Driving, and many other equine activities as well as the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery Musical Drive. CHS Supplied various heating and cooling systems for the hospitality areas of the event, which included a unique design in underfloor heating for the Royal seating area. It is always a pleasure to work with Windsor Equestrian Productions and H Power on this event!
CHS were at Epsom Racecourse for the Derby meeting held from 2nd – 3rd June 17. We worked with Arena  Group to supply temperature control to the Lonsdale  Hospitality area, which was in a large temporary structure along the home straight for the duration of the event. We installed a fan coil and heat pump chiller system to provide heating or cooling options dependent on the weather on the day. As ever, it was great to be working with Arena on this project.
On the 18th June 2017 we were at Guards Polo Club for the Cartier Queens Cup Polo Tournament. Cartier had a hospitality area for invited celebrities with a champagne reception and lunch followed by an after party for the evening. We supplied a full air conditioning system, which provided cooling for the duration of the event. The event was blessed with glorious sunshine which really made the day special! There was a last minute request for more air conditioning due to the high temperatures which were forecast, we were able to react to this and add in some extra units to help beat the heat, which was much appreciated by the event organisers. We have worked with Cartier on this event for a many years now, and we continue to enjoy working with them. 
CHS supplied air conditioning systems for the Aegon International Tennis tournament held between 23rd June – 1st July 2017 at Devonshire Park Tennis Club. We worked with GL Events to supply a Heat pump chiller and fan coil system to the players dining as well as the gym and fitness suite, to help keep the players at a comfortable temperature during their match preparation. GL Events were a pleasure to work with on this event. 
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is held from 29th June – 2nd July 2017. CHS supplied the temperature control to many of the hospitality areas of the event, as well as the Bonhams Auction House, which is the home to the prestigious Festival of Speed Sale. FOS is a one of a kind event; no where else will you get so close to the cars and bikes as they blast up the Hill climb track. The event is held within the grounds of Goodwood Estate and hosts the ultimate summer garden party celebrating the glamorous sport of motor racing. It is an event not to be missed! It was a pleasure as always to work with Goodwood Road and Racing and Bonhams on this event.

Cooling and Heating Solutions Ltd (CHS) have recently installed an air conditioning system into the ‘Dock Gallery’ which is a new area to have opened at Tobacco Dock, London. The new area offers an enclosed space large enough for 600 people standing or 255 seated theatre style.  Dock Gallery maintains the same style as the other parts of Tobacco Dock, with listed timber beams and exposed brickwork along with plenty of natural daylight.  We have installed an air conditioning system which offers both heating and cooling options, depending on the weather and the time of year.

CHS worked with Arena Group for the Cheltenham Festival. We supplied  heating systems to the worlds longest triple decker temporary structure (125m long), and the 2 storey Guinness Pavilion. The structures housed bespoke private suites, restaurants, kitchens and bathroom facilities as well as a 756 capacity, tiered seating grandstand. This hugely popular event was held from 14th-18th March 2017 with massive crowds flocking to the racecourse to see the best horses in jump racing battle it out. The highlight of the week is always the Cheltenham Gold Cup which is held on the Friday of the meeting. However, there are many other big races throughout the week, which include the Champion Hurdle and The Queen Mother Champion Chase. It always has a fantastic atmosphere at the festival and is a great day out! We work with Arena Group on a few large projects throughout the year and they are always a great, professional team to work with.
23f6aaff-2058-4cac-90f7-f6156e6f16eeGoodwood celebrated its 75th Members Meeting on 18th-19th March 2017. CHS supplied temperature control to many different areas of the event. Fan coils in the Bonhams auction structure and the Grand Hall, pole mounted Quartz heaters in the Market Hanger, and Indirect oil fired heaters to the Daffodil tent was just some of the kit used. Our own Charlotte and Faine attended the event for some first hand experience of the event and had a fantastic day, they are looking forward to next year!

The memorial was held on 9th March 2017 for soldiers who have lost their lives in the Afganistan and Iraq wars. We supplied heating to two large temporary structures which were erected for the event. As always, it was great to work with H Power and we are looking forward to the next project.
John M Carter Ltd remain loyal customers to us and have kept us busy with multiple jobs in the last few months. It is always a pleasure to work with them and we hope to continue working with them in the future.

They contacted us in early January enquiring about upgrading their system as theirs was getting a little old, we moved the original system into one of the smaller offices, and installed a new, wall mounted unit in the main office.  This should provide them with a much more efficient system ready for the summer months.

15kW Small Marquee Heater

This is now the smallest unit in our Indirect Fired Oil Heater range, the Belly Tank 15 has an output of 15kW (51,180 BTUs / Hr) and is absolutely perfect for use in small party marquees, loo tents etc. and at a great price! Indirect Fired Heaters are most commonly used in the marquee/event/temporary structure industry to provide clean, dry, thermostatically controlled heat inside the structure, with the Heater standing safely outside.
Between 24th October—4th November CandHS donated £1 To Children In need for every new Facebook page ‘Like’ we received. The final total donated to Children In Need was £50! Thank you for your support.

CandHS supplied temperature control to the 02 Arena for the Barclays ATP world Tour tennis finals, these were held from 14th—20th November 2016. The ATP final is the last event to the men’s professional tennis season, it features the world’s top eight qualified singles players and doubles teams as they battle it out for the last title of the season. Each participant plays three matches as they compete for a berth in the knockout semi-finals and beyond. It is a prize worth winning with a total prize fund of US$7.5 million. Well done to Andy Murray who finished Champion, and also ended the season as World No.1!
00efc1d2-c677-49cd-b671-208be11594b8We were commissioned by Planit events to supply heating to the large temporary structures which are erected in Victoria Embankment Gardens, London through November and December. We provided a number of different types of heating equipment from portable electric heaters, right through to fan coils and boiler systems to provide their guests with the perfect conditions to party!
We worked with John M. Carter Ltd to provide a heating system to Henley Christmas Fair held between 18-21st November . We supplied a slightly different system here where the heat was distributed via high level ducting to enable the heat to be spread right across the marquee despite obstructions such as stall walls which would normally effect air distribution.
On the 01st December CandHS supplied temperature control to Westfield Events for a rather unusual event! They had a plastic dome erected on the rooftop of the Westfield London Shopping Centre, Shepherds Bush in which was being used for a music launch. They planned to have a helicopter hovering above the dome filming the entire show, this meant condensation was a big NO NO! We supplied heating and cooling systems which worked in unison to keep the temperature warm but also reduce the condensation on the dome roof .

OTHER THINGS WE HAVE BEEN UP TO… This is just a snap shot of some of the jobs we have been involved in…We have also provided long term hire of temperature control systems to Halo Conferences and Events at St Mary’s Stadium; Kensington Palace, London; Tobacco Dock, London; Instant space, and many others.

CandHS worked with IMG Events to supply temperature control to the players lounge, media centre and wellness centre, at The RICOH Womens British Open held at Woburn Golf Club on the Marquess’ course between 28th—31st July. This event sees the top female golfers from all over the world battle it out for the national title. As ever, it was a delight to work with IMG for this event.
Over the summer we have installed a semi-permanent system into some areas of Tobacco Dock to keep the building at the perfect ambient temperature; due to it being a Grade I listed building, it took a huge amount of planning and a careful choice of materials to ensure no damage was caused to the original features. Tobacco Dock is one of London’s top event venues, with its stunning timber beams and indoor and outdoor courtyards it has a really unique look and a suitable space for all of your event needs; be it a small meeting or a large exhibition, an award ceremony or anything in between, Tobacco Dock can cater for all.
The Goodwood revival meeting held between 8th—11th September is one of the highlights of the motorsport calendar. The Revival is much more than just racing, it only includes cars from the 1950’s and 60’s with many of these historic vehicles being driven by famous names in motorsport, past and present. The circuit is unchanged from its heyday with 95% of visitors wearing appropriate period clothing. No modern vehicles (except for modern fire and rescue vehicles) are allowed within the circuit perimeter during the revival meeting. There are also sets made up that bring the past back to the present as well as many historic aircraft, which do fly pasts throughout the weekend. It truly is a must see event. CandHS have supplied to this event for many years and this year was no exception, we provided temperature control to multiple temporary structures at the event.
We worked for Ingenious Event Productions to supply air conditioning to Claridge’s during the warm spell to help keep the temperature down for their customers. We have also supplied temperature control to private parties, weddings, conferences and small events. No job is too big or small.
CandHS worked with IMG Events to supply temperature control for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship which was held between 6th—9th October at St Andrews Golf Club in Scotland, one of the most famous golf clubs in the world. It is one of the world’s leading golf events and is a magnet for golfers from every corner of the earth. It is also one of the most prestigious tournaments on the European Tour. The Championship holds a unique format with two separate competitions—an individual professional tournament with a US$5million prize fund, as well as a Pro Am team competition where some of the best amateur golfers play alongside the professionals. We supplied air conditioning to the temporary structures out on the course.

Hello again to our longstanding contacts and welcome to any newbies on the scene!

The last few months have been pretty mental for CandHS, covering a verity of events, so apologies in not making contact sooner. The most interesting bits will be covered in this New Bulletin; I won’t bore you with all the details, because let’s face it, heating and cooling is hardly a barrel of laughs, however it is a vital part of your event planning so please have a read of this month’s bulletin for an insight into the types of things we get ourselves involved in….you may be quite surprised!

One of the first bigger events in June was Download Festival from 10th to 12th June at Donnington Park. CandHS were tasked with providing temperature control for TV Cabins next to the main stage which needed to be kept at a comfortable temperature for the TV crews who attended the festival. We love a good festival at CandHS and this one is no exception, with top musicians playing all over the weekend! We hope to work with Festival Republic again in the future on more festivals and outdoor events.
The Aegon Championships held at the Queen’s Club between 13th and 19th June 2016 is a leading men’s grass-court tournament. We worked with Gearhouse Broadcast for this event who asked us to supply air conditioning systems for TV facilities. This was another great event that we hope to be involved in again next year! CandHS really does appreciate clients choosing us, and we work hard to ensure they will come back to us in the future.
The Goodwood FOS is one of our favourite events for the year to work on. It was held on 23rd to 26th June and this year we worked with The Goodwood Road Racing Company to provide cooling for the corporate hospitality areas of the event. Preparations are already underway for the revival meeting in September, which is yet another unique event held at Goodwood that CandHS supply heating and cooling systems for.
Wimbledon was a success again this year, not only for CandHS but for Andy Murray too where he won his second Wimbledon title! CandHS worked with Arena structures Ltd over the teo week period 27th June to 10th July, they supplied the temporary structures around Wimbledon and it was our job to provide the temperature control. CandHS supplied and installed multiple chillers and fan coils to keep the hospitality areas at a comfortable temperature. CandHS have provided cooling systems to Arena Group for Wimbledon for years now, and we hope to continue to work with them again in the future.
The Open Golf Championships were held at The Royal Troon Golf Club between the 14th and 17th July. This is a prestigious event with the world’s best golfers bathing it out to become champion. CandHS were commissioned by WG Search, on behalf of IMG Media. To provide spli air conditioners, in a whoel range of temporary buildings for worldwide TV and radio.

Charlotte Hordle has recently joined CandHS as sales representative, she will be focusing on all things marketing, as well as assisting in the day to day running of projects. She would love to hear from you so please get in touch.
